Nous

Nous (pronounced nowse) translates as Mind from Ancient Greek.

Nous has been collectively termed with Psyche (soul), Soma (strength), and  Pneuma (heart), to fit the first commandment of Jesus to : “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul, all thy mind and all thy strength”.

The Mind of our Self is seen as our intellect and our common sense.

Common sense is seen as our rational ability to make conscious choices based on our comprehension of the physical world. It completely ignores our emotional intelligence and our spiritual essence.

Our conscious mind is less than 10% of our total ‘Consciousness’.

Our Soul’s Consciousness is the sum total of our conscious mind, our sub-conscious mind, and our super-conscious mind.

To have Nous or True Common Sense requires the use of both our Rational and our Emotional Intelligence, to understand both our physical and our spiritual existence, using our 5 physical senses of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching, together with our 3 spiritual senses of Knowing, Seeing & Feeling.

Our 3 intuitive spiritual senses are common to everyone, once we learn to redeem their everyday use.
